On the occasion of Teej, a fair was organized in the premises of the Paramount Golf Forest Society located in the city. All the women of the society took part in this fair. Women displayed various items made by them in the stalls. In order to make the fair and Teej celebration interesting, women also participated in competitions related to cooking, dance and singing.
As the month of Savan in Hindi calendar begins, the women here get excited for the festival of Teej. Also, there is a special interest in women to celebrate Teej.which is why the female residents of Golf Forest participate in the Teej events so enthusiastically. This traditional celebration is one of a kind so we incorporated traditional stalls to revive this conventional festival. Stalls bringing in a glimpse of various other states were installed in other to acknowledge the diversity of the Indian culture. Women cherished and danced on the tunes of traditional folk songs. The cooking competition was won by Ms. Arnika Sharma and Ms. RekhaShishodia won the title of “Teej Queen”.
“Teej has always been a special festival for women. The festival had always been celebrated by me with my family but this year it became more memorable as I got to enjoy it in the society with all the other ladies. Such celebrations play an immense role in making the residents familiar with each other and these should happen every year” said RekhaShishodia (Teej Queen).
