“Yathiraja deemed university” and “Ramanuja Rural development program” inaugurated during Grand valedictory of Ramanuja Sahasra Sambrama

Thousands of devotees from various walks of life participated in the grand valedictory event of the Ramanuja Sahasra Sambrama – 2017 organized by Yadugiri Yathiraja Matt at the Palace Grounds here on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, which commemorated 1000th years of religious guru Sri Ramanujacharya (1017-1137), Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji, founder of Art of Living called upon the masses to cherish and follow the thoughts of Acharya Sri Ramanuja, whom he hailed as a great philosopher and social reformer of 11th century. Guruji hailed Sri Ramanuja for creating a history by admitting the so called down trodden of the society to the temples.

Sri Yathiraja NARAYANA Ramanuja Jeer Swami, present and 41st pontiff of the Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt said that the Mutt will continue to conduct various religious and cultural event aimed at reforming the society in future too.  As part the celebrations several religious events have been held since past few weeks in the city of Bengaluru and Tondanur of Mandya, he added.

During Valedictory event Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji inaugurated Ramanuja Rural development program, a flagship program for rural development by Yathiraja Mutt.

Sri MN Venkatachaliah, retired chief justice of India who presided as chief guest inaugurated Yadugiri Yathraja Mutt’s new initiative “Yathiraja deemed University”.

Sunday’s event was graced by Bengaluru city mayor G Padmavathy and Political representatives of state legislature and parliament participated in the event.
